Safeguarding
The St Kitts and Nevis Sailing Association is committed to providing a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for everyone involved in sailing. We recognize that safeguarding is essential to the wellbeing, development, and enjoyment of all participants; especially children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
Safeguarding means creating a culture of respect, trust, and accountability where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported both on and off the water. We believe that every participant has the right to enjoy sailing free from abuse, harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or neglect.
To support this commitment, the Association has adopted a formal Safeguarding Policy that outlines our standards, responsibilities, reporting procedures, and codes of conduct. This policy helps ensure that all clubs, volunteers, coaches, instructors, officials, and members understand their role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
We are pleased to confirm that both affiliated member clubs of the Association have formally adopted and integrated this Safeguarding Policy within their own organizations and operations. By working together under shared safeguarding standards, we strengthen our collective commitment to protecting participants and promoting best practices throughout the sailing community in St Kitts and Nevis.
The Association encourages all members, parents, volunteers, and participants to familiarize themselves with the policy and to speak up if they have any safeguarding concerns. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
